What can I expect at a painting quote?
We offer convenient appointment times from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. most days. Our office will set up a time that works with your schedule. Chris will meet with you and walk around your home listening to the areas that you want painted. He may make suggestions at that time as well. He will give you some of our company information and answer any questions. We will then provide you with a printed quote. The process takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes.
How often should I paint the exterior of my house?
This really depends on the exterior surface as well as exposure to the elements. We recommend that your trim and cedar siding be done every 5-10 years. Aluminum, Stucco and Hardie siding can last anywhere from 8-15 years.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We offer a 3 year labor as well as a material warranty on exterior painting, which is one of the best in Columbus. A warranty is provided to you at the time of the estimate.
What is your process for an exterior painting job?
We begin with a powerwash to remove any mold and mildew. After it’s given time to dry, we come back and caulk, scrape, sand, replace rotten wood and finish with 2 coats of paint or stain. We make sure to cover all landscaping and/or surfaces that may come in contact with paint. While this is our standard procedure, each project is different. Your quote will give you detailed information about what to expect, and your crew as well as the owners are always available to answer questions during the process.
What is the process for an interior painting job?
We will give you a list of things you can help with before the painters arrive (moving light furniture away from walls, removing knick-knacks from furniture we will move, removal of artwork, etc.). We will let you know what time the painters will arrive. Once they get there, they will start by covering all necessary floors and furniture. Then they start with wall preparation which includes filling holes and cracks, minor drywall repair, caulking and sanding. Finally they will finish with 2 coats of paint. While this is standard procedure, each project is different. Your quote will give you detailed information about what to expect, and your crew as well as the owners are always available to answer questions during the process.
Do I need to be home when the painters are working?
No. We ask that you be there at certain times (e.g. to approve colors, open doors, etc.). You’ve hired professionals so you don’t have to take those valuable vacation days to paint. We will do our best to work around your schedule the few times that we do need you to be around.
What kind of paint do you use?
We have accounts with all major brands and will use whatever product you prefer. Our standard is to quote in Sherwin Williams products unless you indicative something different. The kind of product will be on your written quote and discussed at the time of the quote.
How do I select a color?
You can select a color a couple different ways:
- We can match your existing color on your house.
- You can go to any Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and look through color selections to make your own choice. Feel free to take home samples and try them on the walls.
- If you need help with color selection, we offer a free color consultation.
What if I don’t like my color selection?
Color selection is a very personal choice. We recommend that you take all the time you need and don’t rush the decision. However, if you decide you don’t like the color after we get started, it is best to tell us as soon as possible. That way we can switch to another color with only a nominal added cost.
What is the best time of year to paint?
Paint manufacturers have come a long way over the last several years, which gives us fewer restrictions on temperature as well as elements. If you’re looking to have interior painting done, we can offer additional discounts during winter months when we are not as busy.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Chris will have copies of our insurance and licenses with him at the quote. We are happy to provide copies to our customers as well.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We except cash, check and all major credit cards. We can also work with you for financing.
